Meet the first babies born at Houston hospitals in 2026

HOUSTON – Hospitals across Houston welcomed the first babies of the new year Thursday.

Memorial Hermann shared the first four babies born in their hospital system this year.

Baby girl Julia (Memorial Hermann)

The first one happened right at the stroke of midnight at Children’s Memorial Hermann. Baby girl Julia was born, weighing 10 pounds and five ounces. Both baby and mom are doing well.

Baby Adriel (Memorial Hermann)

At 12:28 a.m., Memorial Hermann Greater Heights welcomed a baby boy. Baby Adriel Santoyo was born at 12:28 a.m., weighing eight pounds and four ounces.

Baby Robin (Memorial Hermann)

Shortly afterwards, Children’s Memorial Hermann welcomed its first baby boy of the new year, Robin LainezRocha, at 12:42 a.m.

Memorial Hermann Memorial City celebrated the New Year with baby girl Romi, born at 12:59 a.m. to mother Rashmi Gaikwad.

“Memorial Hermann Health System delivers more babies than any other hospital system in the Houston area, recently setting a milestone record of over 30,000 deliveries in a year. With these beautiful babies helping us kick-off 2026, it is sure to be another joy-filled year for thousands of Houston families,” Memorial Hermann said.

Myla Mae Chebret, (St. Luke’s Health)

At St. Luke’s Health – The Woodlands Hospital, they welcomed their first baby at 12:12 a.m. Myla Mae Chebret was born to parents Chancy Johnson and Logan Chebret. She weighed five pounds, 15 ounces when she was born.

Elina Abuasab (Texas Children’s Hospital)

Texas Children’s Hospital welcomed Elina Abuasab at 1:42 a.m. to parents Amal and Tareq. Elina weighed eight pounds, 12 ounces.

Hannah Harper (Texas Children’s Hospital)

Hannah Harper was also born at Texas Children’s at 3:40 a.m. to parents Jessica and Tyler. She weighed six pounds, 15 ounces.
