Loft18 is closing its Houston location in 2026 due to rising costs and crime. They’re aiming for a comeback in a more suitable area amid a Gulf Coast expansion.

HOUSTON — Loft18, a golf-themed sports bar and restaurant in the Sawyer Yards area, is closing its Houston location but says it plans to return to the Bayou City in a new spot that better fits its business model.

The company announced the closure of its site at 2313 Edwards St., effective Jan. 1, 2026, calling it a difficult decision made after “careful consideration,” including rising market costs and increased crime in the area.

Leaders said stepping away from the current space will allow the brand to regroup, reflect, and scout other areas around Greater Houston, such as Katy, The Woodlands and Sugar Land, as part of a broader Gulf Coast expansion.

Loft18 emphasized that the brand itself is not going away. The company continues to operate four locations across Louisiana and said Houston remains part of its long-term vision as a family-friendly sports bar destination.

In the statement, the team thanked employees at the Edwards Street location for their work since the bar first opened in 2019 and expressed gratitude to Houston customers for their support over the years.
