Police say the suspect was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and faces drug charges as well.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A suspect connected to a deadly New Year’s Day shooting in West Texas was arrested Thursday morning in Arlington, police said.

According to the Arlington Police Department, officers had been looking for the suspect, Nathaniel Tinner, after being notified Thursday morning that he may be heading to Arlington. Several APD officers, along with members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, later reportedly found Tinner getting into a vehicle, and then executed a traffic stop of his vehicle in the 2600 block of East Arkansas Lane, officials said.

Tinner was arrested without incident, and he was booked into the Arlington City Jail, police said.

Beyond the murder warrant, officials said APD also charged Tinner with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, as well as drug charges, after police found a gun and narcotics while searching him.

Ector County Deputies first responded to a shots-fired call at approximately 3:27 a.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of West 57th Street, police said. Upon arrival, deputies found two victims with gunshot wounds, officials said.

Police said one male victim, identified as Quincy Devion Price, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female victim found at the scene and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was taken to Medical Center Hospital, where police said she remains under treatment. Her condition and identity were not immediately released.

Officials say the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office will handle any and all matters related to Tinner’s extradition.
