LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) – No injuries are reported following a structure fire in La Crosse.
According to a press release from the La Crosse Fire Department, on Jan. 1, 2026, at around 6:52 p.m., the La Crosse Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 700 block of 6th Street South, a mixed-use building with commercial space on the ground floor and residential units above.
The press release says crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke conditions on the first and second floors of the building.
Fire crews worked to contain the fire and search the building for any trapped or injured victims.
The main body of the fire was brought under control and crews worked to find all hidden fires within the building.
No injuries were reported from the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
