STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Several individuals were taken to the hospital after a vehicle collision in New Springville Friday morning. Among those injured was a 7-year-old girl listed in critical condition.
According to a spokesperson for the NYPD, police responded to a 911 call for a vehicle collision involving a Honda SUV and an Audi SUV in the vicinity of Forest Hill Road and Rockland Avenue around 9:57 a.m.

EMS responded and transported the 7-year-old girl to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze in critical condition, the spokesperson said.
First responders also transported a 50-year-old man, a 70-year-old woman and a 90-year-old man to the same hospital; the spokesperson told the Advance/SILive.com that those three patients were in stable condition.
An FDNY spokesperson told the Advance/SILive.com the adults suffered serious injuries, and added a fifth person left the scene before being evaluated by EMS.
The NYPD did not have information on which patients were in which vehicles as of Friday afternoon.
Images of the aftermath show the wreckage of the two vehicles near the intersection. Both SUVs suffered extensive visible damage to their front ends.
The intersection was taped off and closed to traffic in the wake of the collision.
There are no arrests in this case and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the NYPD spokesperson.
