Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste
The launch of the promotional campaign for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, The Odyssey, has not gone as planned. Although it has avoided Sirens and a Cyclops, pirates leaked the first teaser trailer to social media before paying Jurassic World Rebirth customers could get a peek. Now, per Deadline, the film has lost one of its stars. Cosmo Jarvis, best known as Shōgun’s John Blackthorne, the richly accented Englishman who finds himself running around 17th-century Japan, won’t be making the trek with Odysseus due to that old chestnut “scheduling conflicts.” Thankfully, this happened before Jarvis’ character poster hit the streets, a massive relief for Universal’s marketing department as demand for Cosmo Jarvis-related character posters has never been higher. Jarvis will be replaced by Prometheus star Logan Marshall-Green, who could very well stand in for Tom Hardy or Jai Courtney, too, should they need. However, Marshall-Green has the edge, having the distinct honor of being shot by Marissa Cooper on an episode of The O.C.
Regardless of the Cosmo Conundrum, which appears to be well in hand by the film’s producers, The Odyssey lands in theaters on July 17, 2026.
