1. Death toll rises to 13 in Austin-area flooding with over a dozen missing
At least 13 people are dead and multiple others are missing after heavy rainfall over the weekend that set off deadly flooding, according to Central Texas officials.
A majority of the Central Texas flooding hit Kerr County, located about an hour north of San Antonio. As of Monday evening, over 100 people have died across the state due to flooding.
2. ‘He left a legacy’: Kerrville ISD teacher among those killed in tragic Central Texas flood
Reece Zunker and his wife Paula were among those who were killed in a flash flood in the Texas Hill Country over Fourth of July weekend, Kerrville ISD officials said in a Facebook post. Reece worked at Tivy High School, where he was the head coach of the boys soccer team.
3. Man with an assault rifle killed after shooting at a Border Patrol facility in Texas
A man with an assault rifle fired dozens of rounds at federal agents and a U.S. Border Patrol facility in South Texas on Monday, injuring a police officer, before authorities shot and killed him.
Authorities say the man shot at agents exiting the building, which is near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Cowboys, Texans, NFL donate $1.5 million to Central Texas communities; Astros pledge $1 million
Texas’ NFL teams are helping the Central Texas community after devastating flooding hit the region over the weekend, killing over 100 people.
The Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans both announced they were donating $500,000 to provide support and resources to those impacted.
