Zee Cannon, 25, known musically as “Zeethewizard,” was one of four people shot outside a Dallas club early Thursday morning.
Cannon was critically injured shortly before 4 a.m. when gunfire erupted during the grand opening of Pink House Dallas, an after-hours club near Empire Central and North Stemmons Freeway.
On Friday morning, several relatives posted on Facebook and Instagram, asking the public to stop speculating about Cannon’s condition. Authorities have not publicly released information on the victims of the shooting, and Cannon’s status remains unknown.

Dallas native
Cannon is from Dallas and most recently lived in west Oak Cliff, according to public records. He also did stints in Grand Prairie and Duncanville, records showed.
Crime in The News
According to Spotify, his music has a loyal hometown fanbase, with 1,287 listeners in Dallas and 565 listeners in Fort Worth.
87,000 listens on Spotify
He began his music career in late 2024 and was deemed one of the top 20 rappers to watch by the Dallas Observer during the summer of 2025.
Cannon has released four albums, five singles and over 15 music videos since the start of his music career, according to Spotify. His top track has 87,592 streams on Spotify.
Future’s Freebandz label
Cannon signed on with the Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary label, Future Freebandz, in late 2025.
The label was founded by Grammy award-winning hip-hop artist Future in 2011.
The label has also signed musicians such as DJ Esco, Lil Wookie, Young Scooter and Young Thug, according to the Freebandz page on SoundCloud.
‘New Dallas’ collective
The collective, started in 2023, is a group of friends who advocate for peace and unity within the Dallas-Fort Worth rap scene.
The group holds community events, such as an annual Christmas drive, according to the New Dallas Instagram page.
Dream of career in sports
Cannon’s dreams of playing professional sports were squashed by an injury, leading him to start his music career.
