JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a woman Saturday morning on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said detectives identified Stephan Smith, 23, as the suspect in the murder of 18-year-old Xzaria Randall.

Around 1 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to reports of a shooting on Rover Road near 103rd Street.

When police arrived, they found Randall dead with multiple gunshot wounds to her torso, according to JSO.

JSO said the shooting occurred during a party where a fight broke out and ended in gunfire. Multiple people were detained as detectives worked to determine the relationships between those involved.

Smith was booked into Duval County jail and charged with second-degree murder.

“We’ll work closely with the State Attorney’s Office to make sure justice is served for Randall’s loved ones,” JSO wrote in a news release.
