SAN ANTONIO — Detectives are investigating a shooting Friday after a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen was dropped off at a local hospital by friends.
The unidentified victim was taken to the Mission Trail Baptist Hospital by three friends shortly before 9 p.m.
“He’s got an apparent gunshot wound to his stomach. It looks like it’s an entry and exit,” explained Officer Garcia from the San Antonio police department.
Detectives interviewed the three people who dropped him off, trying to piece together what happened.
After receiving initial treatment, the victim was transported by ambulance to San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). He was reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators are still working to determine the exact time and location of the shooting. Preliminary information suggests the incident may have occurred near a local park within 20 minutes of the victim’s arrival at the hospital.
“We’re trying to get a better idea of when and where and all that,” Garcia said. “His friends brought him here.”
Police believe there is only one victim involved in the incident. No suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
