JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WICS) — The Jacksonville Police Department reported no arrests for impaired driving, including alcohol and cannabis-related offenses, during the recent Fourth of July safety campaigns.

The initiatives, titled “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI,” and “Click It or Ticket,” ran from June 20 through July 7.

During this period, officers issued seven seat belt citations. Additional citations included three for no insurance, one for an equipment violation, one for failure to yield, and one for disobeying a stop sign.

The Jacksonville Police Department participated in this statewide effort alongside more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies.

The campaign aimed to remove drunk, high, and drugged drivers from roads and promote seat belt use.

These efforts were funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
