‘Rebuilding Together Philadelphia’ provides essential repairs to keep families in their homes

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is a nonprofit in the city helping community members have safer homes.

They focus on providing service to the homes that are functional, not cosmetic.

“Rebuilding Together Philadelphia provides free home repairs to income eligible homeowners to make homes safe for seniors, healthy for children, and secure assets to pass on to the next generation…So it’s everything from basic systems plumbing, roofing, electrical and everything to make a home structurally sound,” said President & CEO, Stefanie Seldin.

This is done by collaborating with neighborhood organizations and real contractors who will work in the homes.

At April Wimbush’s West Philly home, they have provided roof repair, as well as insulation work.

This is especially significant during the winter months, so that this homeowner has a warm place to live and doesn’t have to relocate in the future.
