Officials are investigating the cause of the New Year’s Eve fire in Collingdale.

Crews were called 1220 McDade Blvd. about 3 p.m. for a building fire and arrived to find fire showing from a garage and smoke coming from the upper floor.

Collingdale Fire Marshal Colin McCann said on Friday that the fire originated from the first floor, which he said was a storage facility for What A Crock, a subscription food service based in Brookhaven.

A second floor apartment was also impacted, McCann said.

Crews quickly placed multiple handlines into service and controlled the flames. Crews remained on location removing damaged items and property.

McCann said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
