The following programs will be held at COA’s THE PLAYERS Community Senior Center, 175 Landrum Lane, Ponte Vedra Beach, beginning in January. Most activities are weekly and will begin on Jan. 6. Lunch — Tuesdays: Four weeks starting Tuesday, Jan. 6, from noon to 1 p.m. Registration is required a week in advance, and the required fee is $5 per meal due upon arrival.

Duplicate Bridge: Four weeks on Fridays, starting Jan. 9, from noon to 3 p.m. Required fee is $2 per person, per Friday. You must have a partner and experience to play.

Tap Dance Class: Instructor Ginny Wirzbicki brings much experience to this style of dance and encourages all levels to participate or learn. Four weeks on Fridays, starting Jan. 9, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fee required is $6.25 per class.

Hisshin Sumi-e Painting Class: Traditional East Asian brush painting. This class meets on the second Thursday of every month (Jan. 8) from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fee required is $3 per person.

Open Painting: Four weeks on Wednesdays, starting Jan. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No fee required; bring your own supplies. Instructor Sarah Good onsite Jan. 14.

Caregiver Support Group (free program): The group is open to all adult caregivers. Meets once a month, on the first Wednesday of each month. Next date is Wednesday, Jan. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“Emotional Well-Being”: Start the new year with a bright new outlook! Dr. Heather Luing from the Florida Center for TMS will speak on mental health challenges commonly faced by older adults. Dr. Luing is passionate about increasing awareness, reducing stigma and offering practical strategies to help improve our emotional well-being. Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 11 a.m. to noon

“C.A.R.E.”: St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office brings attention and resources to our senior population to address increasing criminal threats and safeguard the quality of life of our elderly. Come and learn about the C.A.R.E. Program (Community and Advocacy Resources for the Elderly). Thursday, Jan. 8, from 11 a.m. to noon

“Safe Exercise”: If your New Year’s resolution was to feel better, let Dr. Tim Marten help! Owner of Lift Physical Therapy, Dr. Tim is here to give you a hands-on approach to safe stretches and exercises, which also aid in fall prevention. Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 11 a.m. to noon
