Transfer portal movement continued for the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday, when 6-foot-8 redshirt junior offensive lineman Quinton Harris announced his decision to enter the portal on social media. A former three-star recruit in the 2022 class and a four-year member of the Horned Frogs, Harris appeared in all 13 games and made four starts at right tackle this season. Harris, who started against Kansas State, Baylor, West Virginia and Iowa State, recorded more than 70 snaps in those four games and helped TCU rush for 100-plus yards in eight games.
Harris redshirted in 2022 and earned his first game reps in 2023, playing six snaps in the team’s season finale at Oklahoma. The 6-foot-8, 305-pounder from Arlington, Texas appeared in all 13 games and totaled 81 snaps in 2024, a season that culminated with a New Mexico Bowl win over Louisiana. Harris, who primarily played on special teams in 2024, departs as one of the more experienced players on the TCU offensive line that will be losing seniors like Remington Strickland, Carson Bruno and Coltin Deery to graduation/eligibility expiration.
A three-star recruit out of Arlington Seguin, Harris signed with TCU over SMU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Kansas. His departure depletes the offensive tackle depth for the Horned Frogs, who will have two veteran guards in the fold next season in Cade Bennett and Oklahoma State transfer Noah McKinney. Left tackle Ryan Hughes, a starter at the beginning of this season, suffered a season-ending knee injury, forcing TCU to slot junior Ben Taylor-Whitfield in at left tackle while Harris started at right tackle. As the season progressed, Bruno (a right guard) and Strickland, as well as Cooper Powers, took the bulk of the starting reps on the right side.
