A 4-year-old child was killed in a Sunday morning fire in Houston County, WDHN news reports.

The television station, citing officials with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, stated the fire happened about 10 a.m. at a home in the 7100 block of East Highway 84.

Five children were in the home but the 4-year-old was unable to escape, WDHN reported. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd identified the child as 4-year-old Nova Wynn, according to WTVY News4.
