Construction on a roundabout at North Harts Road and William Burgess Boulevard is scheduled to begin on Jan. 7 and end by Jan. 30.
YULEE, Fla. — Construction on a new roundabout in Yulee is expected to begin on Wednesday following a months-long delay.
The roundabout, planned for the intersection of William Burgess Boulevard and North Harts Road, is expected to ease congestion in the area.
Holland Contractors is in charge of the construction, which was originally scheduled to begin in June 2025 and end in July. On social media, Nassau County wrote that the contractor had been delayed “due to FPL and a project they had with overhead power lines,” but that the issue was resolved.
For the duration of the project, there will be detours in place to accommodate construction. The already existing detour will continue to allow drivers onto North Harts Rd. from William Burgess Blvd. via Spring Meadow Avenue; a second will connect William Burgess Blvd. and Cardinal Road.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding during this construction period,” wrote Nassau County Communications Officer Sabrina Robertson. “While temporary inconveniences may occur, this improvement is designed to enhance safety and traffic flow for all who travel through the area. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to deliver long-term benefits for our residents and visitors.”
The area is expected to see significant development and population growth as part of Nassau County’s long-term plans for the district. That includes Nassau Crossing, the Planned Use Development (PUD) immediately east of the intersection.
