SAN ANTONIO — An arrest was made after an attack involving a stabbing and a baseball bat on Christmas morning, police say.

San Antonio police arrested 61-year-old Ruben Licea last week.

The attack happened at a Christmas celebration being held in the 5900 block of Castle Hunt just before 1:30 a.m. Arrest records show Licea and the 56-year-old victim had a history of conflicts, which led to the attack.

Police say Licea and some friends eventually returned home after an earlier spat and started attacking the other man and his son. The father was then stabbed in the chest and the son was hit across the forehead with a baseball bat

Three suspects took off. Both men are expected to recover from their injuries.

Licea is currently in jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that carries at $75,000 bond. Police have not given any updates on the status of the other two suspects.
