Scottsdale residents volunteered thousands of hours of service across city programs and departments.

Last year, 4,695 volunteers donated a combined 129,109 hours of service to Scottsdale, according to a press release from the City of Scottsdale.

Using the Independent Sector’s established value of volunteer time for Arizona — $33.70 per hour — those efforts represent more than $4.3 million in community value. That is equivalent to the work of 62 full-time employees.

The city’s Adopt-a-Road program had the largest volunteer participation in 2025, engaging 1,930 volunteers. The program supports community pride by keeping Scottsdale’s streets and roadways free of litter.

The Scottsdale Food Bank and the Scottsdale Public Library system, among other programs, also received considerable volunteer help.
