Cher is a master manifestor.
During an appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast on Monday, Jan. 5, the “Believe” singer revealed how she manifested boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards — and his 6-year-old son — long before she met him.
“Before I met him, I walked around my house saying, ‘I want a man and a toddler,'” Cher, 79, said.
Shepard, 51, responded, “You declared it to the universe.”
“I wasn’t expecting them maybe together but that’s what I wanted,” Cher added of Edwards, 39, who shares son Slash with ex Amber Rose.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Shepard opened up about his dynamic with wife Kristen Bell — and Cher could relate to what he had to say.
“I’m not threatened by her shining. I love it. The shinier she gets, the better,” he said.
Cher added, “Alexander is that way too.”
She also called her boyfriend of over three years a “wonderful person” and said he’s “really funny.”
In November, Cher interviewed with Gayle King for an episode of CBS Mornings and shared why their 40-year age gap has never been an issue.
“They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast,” she said at the time.
She also said that he doesn’t have a problem with their age difference: “He just says, ‘You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.'”
“I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented,” added Cher. “He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.”

Cher and Edwards were first romantically linked in November 2022, when they were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles.
In December 2023, Cher went on Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg and opened up about her first texting conversation with Edwards.
“I left to go to Switzerland, and he texted me. He said, ‘Where are you going?’ I said, ‘I’m going to Switzerland, I’m a little tired.’ And then he wrote me, ‘Well, get some rest babyyy.’ And I went, he doesn’t know me well enough to put three y’s on baby,” the “I Got You Babe” singer said. “I was kind of pissed off. And then he just started texting me.”
She continued, “I told my friends, don’t fall in love with a younger man, we’re too old, and don’t ever fall in love by text. There goes that theory.”
