Officers were called just after 6 p.m. to the zoo after a disturbance involving 29-year-old Alexander Pena. Investigators said Pena became involved in a fight with another individual when two bystanders stepped in to break it up.

Police allege Pena then pulled out a knife and stabbed the two men — a 42-year-old and an 18-year-old. Both victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pena was detained at the scene and eventually charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a charge of interfering with emergency request for assistance and assault causing bodily injury.

He’s being held at the Bexar County Jail on a combined $160,000 bond.
