It has only been three months since Nicole Kidman confirmed her split from Keith Urban, her husband of 20 years.
And now there are reports that the Hollywood superstar, 58, is being encouraged to move on with another A-lister, who just happens to be an old friend.
According to Woman’s Day, Nicole’s close buddy Naomi Watts has suggested the Oscar winner date fellow Aussie star Simon Baker.
‘Simon’s always been a good friend of Nicole’s – she and Naomi are both godmothers to his kids – but it’s always been a strictly platonic friendship,’ a source told the magazine.
The insider claims that Nicole is ‘too scared’ to do anything that might ruin her friendship with the 56-year-old Mentalist actor, whom she has known for decades.
The magazine also claims Nicole wants to protect her friendship with Rebecca Rigg, fellow Aussie actress and Simon’s ex-wife.

The insider added that Naomi ‘knows that Simon would drop everything and everyone to hook up with Nicole’.
‘Naomi would love to see Nicole and Simon hook up, but she knows Nicole’s not ready yet and she’s still getting over her split from Keith,’ they said.
Nicole and Simon will soon be seen co-starring in Scarpetta, a new streaming series that is set to drop on Stan in March.
According to the report, it was Naomi who suggested to Nicole that Simon play her lover in the crime show, which is based on the book series by Patricia Cornwell.
Simon, who has been known to be flirty with Nicole in public, has often teased fans with cheeky comments about his friendship with the superstar.
Back in 2022, when the pair appeared as a couple in Nicole’s Apple+ streaming series Roar, he made a joke about their on-screen ‘marriage’.
‘I had the privilege of playing husband to Nicole Kidman, hmmn…..’ the star wrote on his Instagram at the time while sharing a steamy shot of his co-star.

Nicole spent the festive season in Australia, returning to Sydney for her first Christmas since her separation from country music star Keith.
The actress and musician’s separation was confirmed by Daily Mail on September 29, and Nicole filed for divorce on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences.
Their marriage began to fall apart at the beginning of summer 2025. The split was reportedly a long-term development, stemming from months of quiet separation and diverging paths due to work commitments, according to Daily Mail sources.
Nicole has requested to be the primary residential parent in the custody arrangement.
