The Wisconsin State Golf Association’s season-long tournament schedule always presents a sweet mix of venues old and new. That only makes sense because we’ve got golf courses galore in both categories. As they say, two things can be true at the same time.

We’ve played golf around here for more than 130 years now – with numerous state golf facilities approaching or having already celebrated their centennials. Yet, Wisconsin has also become one of the hottest locales for destination golfers in the 21st century, with eye-popping new designs by this generation’s greatest golf course architects.

Sweet mix, indeed.

WSGA players will have chances to enjoy all of it during the 2026 tournament season. This year’s slate of events commences on May 5, with Wisconsin’s annual U.S. Open Local Qualifier at North Shore CC in Mequon, which is one of 11 United States Golf Association championship qualifying events the WSGA will conduct this season.

Wisconsin’s biggest stroke-play championships for men and women amateur players will visit two of southern Wisconsin’s old-school private clubs in 2026, both of which have hosted state tournaments decade after decade.

The 125th Wisconsin State Amateur Championship will be held at West Bend CC this year (July 20-23), a club that was formed in the late 1920s. Twelve qualifying events are scheduled this season for non-exempt players. The Wisconsin Women’s Amateur Championship will be held at The Wisconsin CC in Milwaukee, the venerable club formed on the north side of the city in 1929 and previously known as Brynwood CC. Both events are again sponsored by West Bend Insurance.

The WSGA Match Play Championship, with five qualifiers prior to the championship, is scheduled for June 15-18 at Hidden Glen GC in Cedarburg, a newer facility built this century. And the Highlands Course at Grand Geneva resort in Lake Geneva will host the Women’s Match Play Championship June 22-25.

Of course, the WSGA’s popular Senior Tour, Net Partners and Scramble Series competitions will all return for the 2026 season – each concluding with one-day championships at Wild Rock GC in Wisconsin Dells.

The WSGA Senior Tour Championship, with 20 season-long qualifying events, will be held on Sept. 23. All Senior Tour events are stableford scoring with three age categories and gross and net divisions. Age categories include senior (55-64), super senior (65-69) and the new-for-2026 legends division (70 and older).

Meantime, the WSGA Net Partners Championship, also a stableford competition for teams of two players, is scheduled for Sept. 15. There are 12 qualifiers scheduled during the 2026 season.

And the Scramble Series Championship (eight qualifiers) is scheduled for Sept. 16 at Wild Rock. Scramble Series events offer competitions in gross and net for teams of two.

Those aforementioned 11 USGA qualifying events are a couple more than normal in Wisconsin. That number is the result of those incredible tournament courses built here recently and the national championships they attract. Since The Lido, a phenomenal new venue in Nekoosa, is hosting the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship this summer (Sept. 26 through Oct. 2), Wisconsin will host two qualifiers for the event. They are Aug. 11 at The Legend at Merrill Hills and Aug. 26 at Lake Arrowhead GC.

Likewise, Wisconsin will host two late-season qualifying events this year for the 2027 U.S. Four-Ball Championship – on Aug. 31 at The Legend at Bristlecone and Sept. 9 at The Wisconsin CC. The 2027 U.S. Four-Ball Championship will be held in May of 2027 at Erin Hills in Erin, with Blue Mound G&CC in Wauwatosa serving as the second stroke-play course.

Following are the 2026 WSGA schedules for its championships, the season-long Scramble Series, Senior Tour and Net Partners tournaments, as well as the dates of the 11 USGA championship qualifying events being conducted by the WSGA.
