A female teacher has been charged with multiple child sexual abuse offences and suspended after being accused of sexually abusing a former male student.
Naomi Tekea Craig, 33, is accused of engaging in ‘persistent sexual contact’ with the teenage boy at Frederick Irwin Anglican School in Mandurah, south of Perth, across 2024 and 2025.
She faces two charges of sexual penetration of a child aged 13-16, following an investigation by the Western Australian Police child abuse squad.
Craig was also charged with possession of child exploitation material and persistent sexual conduct with a child aged under 16.
She will appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on January 27.
Craig has been suspended from the school ‘pending the outcome of the police investigation and any prosecution’.
Frederick Irwin Anglican School addressed the allegations in a letter sent to parents on Tuesday.
‘I regret to inform you that a teacher from our school has been arrested by police and charged with child-related offences not involving any current student,’ principal Tracey Gray wrote.
