Getting some vitamin G with Jared — NASA
Keith’s note: Jared Isaacman took several Trump family members for a plane ride the other day. Before you start to wag your fingers at him for this – understand that there will be many more opportunities for lots of NASA employees – and others – to get the same opportunity and that Isaacman is footing the bill for all of the expenses – in his own jets (yes he painted NASA logos on them). FYI he likes to fly lots of people in these jets and has been doing so for years. Silver Snoopys are nice. But pulling a bunch of Gs is … fun. Two tweets were posted that go into further detail. (see below).
Isaacman tweeted: “At NASA, we take to the skies for training, cutting-edge flight test programs, to send our astronauts to space, and to inspire the next generation to look up and imagine what is possible. Today, we had the opportunity to fly @LaraLeaTrump and @EricTrump over NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, and to show them where history is being made on the ground, including a visit to the Vehicle Assembly Building and the Artemis II rocket that will send NASA astronauts farther into space than ever before. We were honored to host you where America reaches for the stars.”
NASA PAO tweeted: “Administrator Isaacman has an extensive background in aviation and has generously made his privately owned F-5 aircraft available for NASA workforce incentive flights, flyovers, participation in America’s 250th birthday celebrations, and to inspire the next generation to take an interest in STEM fields and contribute to the greatest adventure in human history. All costs associated with these flights are covered by the Administrator, with zero burden to the taxpayer. On his first day, he publicly committed to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, including covering these costs personally, donating his salary to Space Camp, and ensuring NASA delivers on its world-changing mission efficiently and with urgency. So keep an eye out at rocket launches and Space Coast airshows. If you are an accomplished @NASA employee doing exceptional work, there will be opportunities ahead to take to the skies with the @NASAAdmin”.
