Nevada’s seven-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday night as San Diego State rallied for a 73–68 victory at Lawlor Events Center, handing the Pack its first conference loss of the season.

Nevada looked sharp from the opening tip. Corey Camper Jr. made an immediate impact with a fast-break dunk just minutes into the game, and Tayshawn Comer and Chuck Bailey followed with three-pointers as the Pack jumped out with an early 10–0 run. Camper paced Nevada early, scoring eight points in the first 10 minutes, while the Pack’s defense forced four Aztec turnovers and fueled a hot shooting stretch.

San Diego State, however, refused to fade. The Aztecs stormed back with a 10–0 run midway through the first half, holding Nevada scoreless for nearly three minutes to trim the deficit. Nevada briefly regained momentum out of a media timeout when Kaleb Lowery and Comer each buried a three-pointer, but SDSU stayed aggressive, knocking down shots down the stretch.

By halftime, Nevada’s lead had been cut to just two, 36–34, after the Pack finished the half shooting 1-for-7 as the Aztecs closed strong.

The momentum swung early in the second half. Miles Byrd drilled a three-pointer coming out of the break to give San Diego State its first lead. Nevada answered through Elijah Price, who sparked the Pack with a steal and later converted an and-one finish. Byrd struck again from deep, but Price continued to respond, keeping Nevada within striking distance.

SDSU began to separate midway through the half as Nevada struggled offensively. After missing seven straight shots, Bailey finally connected from three, but the Aztecs stayed hot, hitting six of their last eight attempts during that stretch.

Nevada made one final push late. Amire Robinson’s three-pointer cut the deficit to one, and Price took over in the closing minutes. He converted an and-one layup, followed by another basket that briefly put Nevada back in front. Price finished the night 11-for-12 at the free-throw line and recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

In the final minutes, San Diego State made the decisive plays. The Aztecs finished at the rim to regain the lead, came up with a late defensive stop, and Miles Heide virtually sealed the game with an and-one to push the advantage. Nevada could not recover, falling 73–68.

The Pack stays home and faces Wyoming on Saturday in Reno.
