HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect accused of shoplifting, which turned into an aggravated robbery.

On Tuesday, HD’s robbery division shared footage of the incident from Dec. 7, 2025. Police said it happened at about 4:30 p.m. at a retail store in the 10800 block of Westheimer.

According to police, the suspect walked into the wine section of the store, removed a couple of wine bottles, and hid them in his jacket. The man then walked out without trying to pay for the bottles.

Police said the suspect was confronted by a store employee, and the suspect hit the employee on the head, causing serious bodily injury, and fled.
