  • January 7, 2026

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Three people, including a police officer, were taken to the hospital early Wednesday after an apartment fire killed two dogs in central Phoenix.

Firefighters were called to the reported apartment fire at the Casa Del Cielo Condominium at 23rd and Glenrosa avenues just before 5 a.m.

When they got to the scene, smoke was rising from the building. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze.

A Phoenix Fire spokesperson confirmed two people and a police officer suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Unfortunately, two dogs were found dead, according to Phoenix Fire.
