PHOENIX – Two dogs were killed in a Phoenix apartment fire that sent three people, including a police officer, to the hospital on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Crews were dispatched to a structure fire at 2333 W. Glenrosa Avenue, near Interstate 17 and Indian School Road, around 5 a.m. and found smoke coming from a single-story apartment building, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
They deployed hand lines and attacked the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to other units.
Two tenants and police officer were taken to a hospital to be treated for minor smoke inhalation, and two dogs were found dead inside the apartment.
No firefighters were injured during the incident.
The cause of the apartment fire is under investigation.
