The Arizona Humane Society is hoping a new haircut for a group of doodles seized from an alleged backyard breeder will help them find new homes through adoption.

PHOENIX — The Arizona Humane Society is showing off some brand new haircuts for a group of doodles that are looking for a new home.

The nonprofit organization shared before-and-after photos of the doodles in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

They said the dogs were seized by police from a home in Phoenix in December after a Good Samaritan called to report an alleged backyard breeder.

The Humane Society said that nine dogs were brought to them in need of care, while another three dogs were found dead at the home.

“This case is a reminder that animal cruelty is a serious problem in Arizona and that backyard breeding is harmful and a major contributor to the severe pet overpopulation we are experiencing,” the Arizona Humane Society said in the Facebook post.

Some of the dogs rescued from the alleged backyard breeder are already listed as up for adoption on the Arizona Humane Society website.

The Humane Society said the former owner of the dogs is facing animal cruelty charges.
