In addition to launching a new three-person morning show in Portland, Connoisseur Media has gone local in mornings at their Country stations in the Bay Area and Palm Springs and changed syndicated shows in Tyler/Longview TX.
At “Bay Country” 94.5 KBAY San Jose/92.1 KKDV Walnut Creek, midday host Danny Miller moves up to mornings. Miller has been with KBAY since 2005 serving as a weekend host there and sister Hot AC “Mix 106.5” KEZR before moving to afternoons in 2021. When the station flipped to Country in 2022, Miller first hosted nights before moving to middays.
Replacing Miller in middays is weekend host Tony Michaels. Michaels has hosted weekends at KBAY/KKDV since 2022 after two previous stints at Country 95.3 KRTY San Jose from 1990-99 and 2017-22. He has also worked at KATM Modesto and KYCY and KFRC San Francisco.
“98.5 The Bull” KDES-FM Palm Springs, recently appointed Operations Manager/PD Todd Violette will host mornings from 6-9am. Violette has previously held programming roles for iHeartMedia in Indianapolis and St. Louis, Cumulus Media Oxnard CA, APD/MD/on-air for KZZO Sacramento and KRBZ Kansas City, co-hosted mornings at KHTE Little Rock, and worked on-air at KIIS-FM Los Angeles and Westwood One.
Both replace Premiere Networks’ Bobby Bones Show. Connoisseur also dropped Bones at 105.7 KYKX Longview/Tyler TX bringing Compass Media Networks’ Big D & Bubba back to the market for the third time. The show was on Townsquare Media’s 101.5 KNUE from 2000 to 2021 and then immediately moved to KYKX’s sister Classic Country “104.1 The Ranch” KKUS until being dropped last May.
