A new beta update, version 13.12, is now available for users of the Garmin Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. This second release in the 13.xx testing cycle brings a new activity to all users. Plus, there is an improvement for the Floor Climb activity type, as well as a couple of bug fixes.
Garmin has released a new update for the Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. The beta version 13.12 software arrives a few weeks after the first update in the 13.xx testing cycle, which brought changes including customization options for Morning Report and improvements for Training Readiness.
With beta version 13.12, users of the Garmin Instinct 3 and related smartwatches get a new Treadmill Walk activity type. Plus, an issue linked to the training menu for Pool Swim activities has been resolved. The remaining changes in this release are for certain groups of users.
For the Instinct 3 Solar, Instinct 3 AMOLED, and Instinct Crossover smartwatches comes the ability to log a Pack Weight for a Floor Climb activity. Similar functionality arrived for the Stair Stepper workout type in the previous update. Plus, only for users of the Instinct 3 AMOLED and Instinct Crossover watches is a bug fix for the Connect IQ app icon. Apparently, this was not displayed as expected in the app list.
Users of the Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover smartwatches (curr. $649.99 at Amazon) can download beta version 13.12 by going to Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates. However, Garmin warns inReach Remote users that there are some connectivity issues in this release; as such, it advises these customers not install the update.
