Cerveau is a new pizza spot from chef Joe Hunter, who was one of the original partners at the beloved but now-closed Pizza Brain. He even picked the name as an homage: “cerveau” is French for “brain.” The restaurant is painted with bright colors and wild patterns, giving the dining room the look of a kid’s birthday party.

Cerveau screams family pizza night or friend get-together, with long picnic tables that can easily accommodate larger groups. A birthday party would also fit in nicely here.

Cerveau also offers a nice lunch menu, with Italian sandwiches, soups, and salads. This would be a great spot for a weekend lunch with friends or skipping out early from work on a Friday.

The whimsical interior is splashed in orange and blue. Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme/Eater Philly
