PHOENIX — A popular drive-thru restaurant in Phoenix that closed for nine months after a fire last year is set to reopen next week.
Eat Up Drive In, which is near 40th Street and Indian School Road, will hold a grand reopening celebration in the parking lot from 11 a.m. to noon on Jan. 17.
The Saturday event will feature:
- A special appearance by local firefighters for a show‑and‑tell experience.
- Complimentary lemonade.
- A complimentary cookie stand for guests.
The Arcadia restaurant offers dine‑in, drive‑thru, takeout and curbside service. It is known for its wood-grilled chicken, steak and shrimp, sandwiches, soups and salads. However, new changes are coming to the menu.
Breakfast is served daily from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and includes a variety of options such as hearty overnight oats; avocado toast with cage‑free fried eggs on toasted ciabatta; a breakfast burrito filled with eggs, cheddar, bacon, smashed beans and house potato hash; and several sandwiches.
The updated menu also includes ice cream shakes, a full coffee menu and new salads, sides and sandwiches.

Why did Arcadia eatery Eat Up Drive In temporarily close?
Eat Up Drive In opened in 2021 and is known for serving family-style meals that are made from scratch daily.
The business had to shut down after a fire broke out just after 7 p.m. on April 27, 2025.
Everyone had already evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
