Stealing a page from California Democrats, Houston City Council member Edward Pollard told the Houston Chronicle that he wants a policy put in place that would force local ICE agents to remove their face coverings.

Sadly, it’s something that we should not expect to see here in Texas.

“Here in Texas, it does surprise me” said Chris Cabrera, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), “It wasn’t that long ago where they were mandating everybody to wear a mask, and now they’re telling these guys they can’t wear a mask for their own safety.”

But this what the Dems do, even here in Houston.

“I think if the situations were reversed, if people were calling for putting the city council, let’s put all of their addresses and everything out there in the media, and you guys can go do what you gotta to do, obviously people would be up in arms over that” Cabrera told KTRH.

And on the flip side, one thing the article and conversation blatantly fails to address, is how much this puts ICE agents and their families at risk.

“We’ve seen an uptick in attacks on ICE agents, and it just seems that they’re trying anything in their playbook and it’s just putting these guys in harms way, not to mention their families” noted Cabrera.

There was a similar proposal in Houston city council last year, but it failed to get enough support to appear on the agenda.
