PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia Police are trying to figure out exactly what happened to a pedestrian who was struck and killed in the city’s Kingsessing section on Wednesday night.
Investigators say a female driver stopped at 52nd Street and Woodland Avenue around 7:30 p.m., after realizing that her car was dragging a man’s body.
The 62-year-old victim had injuries throughout his body.
Police believe he may have actually been struck three blocks away in the area of 49th Street and Woodland Avenue, and the driver who discovered him struck him while he was already in the roadway.
That driver remained on the scene.
Authorities are now checking surveillance video to see if another car had previously hit the victim and exactly where he was hit.
The identity of the man has not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
