JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A massive drug bust at a Brentwood home uncovered a host of illegal drugs that could have threatened the Jacksonville community, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation was launched a month ago after JSO narcotics detectives received a tip about a home on West 27th Street that was used to distribute drugs.
JSO issued a search warrant on the home last week and found more than 1,200 grams of fentanyl and other drugs such as:
-
1,387.2 grams of cathinone
-
492.5 grams of crack cocaine
-
165.1 grams of powder cocaine
-
115.2 grams of ecstasy
-
7.1 grams of heroin
-
6.2 pounds of marijuana
According to JSO, the fentanyl was enough to kill more than 600,000 people, which is more than half of Jacksonville’s population.
Five guns were also found in the home. One was reported stolen, and another had an illegal switch on it, JSO said.
Five men were arrested in connection with the drug bust:
-
Yahya Ali, 48
-
Alshawn Martin, 47
-
Bilal Ali, 20
-
Tywanna Davenport, 40
-
James Johnson, 54
They all face felony charges, but JSO did not specify those charges.
