SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio is dreaming of revelations as the city gears up to celebrate DreamWeek.

DreamWeek San Antonio is an annual summit dedicated to celebrating the community through civil and civic engagement.

Under the theme “Revelations,” this year’s celebration will feature more than 250 events focused on uncovering and honoring the hidden stories, unsung heroes, and overlooked contributions that have shaped the fabric of the community.

“Revelations is about pulling back the curtain on the brilliance that exists all around us but often goes unrecognized,” said Shokare Nakpodia, founder of DreamWeek San Antonio. “Every neighborhood, every cultural group, every generation has contributed to making San Antonio the vibrant, resilient community it is today. This year, we’re creating space to celebrate those stories and the people behind them—to reveal the community genius that has always been here.”

The three-week summit will feature a wide range of programming, including panel discussions, workshops, artistic performances, community gatherings, and educational forums. All events are designed to promote understanding, celebrate diversity, and strengthen civic participation across San Antonio’s many communities.

“We are honored to partner with DreamWeek San Antonio in this important mission of revelation and recognition,” said a representative from the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum. “For too long, critical chapters of our community’s history have remained in the shadows. Through DreamWeek 2026, we have an opportunity to bring these narratives into the light and ensure future generations understand the full richness of San Antonio’s heritage.”

DreamWeek San Antonio runs Jan. 9-31.
