Video shows a woman try to get in the victim’s SUV, then a man open fire.

HOUSTON — Houston police have released surveillance video of two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man early Christmas Day on the city’s southwest side.

The shooting occurred about 1:05 a.m. Dec. 25 along the West Sam Houston Parkway near Bellaire.

The victim was identified as Desmond Butler, 25.

According to the Houston Police Department, Butler drove his gray Honda Pilot into a gas station parking lot, where a black, older-model GMC Acadia was parked at one of the pumps.

As Butler pulled into the parking lot and drove past the GMC, a woman could be seen getting out of the GMC and chased Butler’s vehicle, trying to open the rear passenger door. At the same time, a man got out of the GMC and fired a gun at Butler’s vehicle as it left the parking lot.

Police said Butler tried to head north on the West Sam Houston Parkway feeder road but was struck and crashed into a pole in an adjacent parking lot. The suspects then got back into their vehicle and took off northbound on the feeder road.

Butler was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police are asking for the public’s help to find the suspects.
