TYLER, Texas — Demolition has begun at an old athletic club building, making room for a returning outdoor miniature golf location in Tyler.
Crews could be seen on Wednesday renovating the old Woodcreek Athletic Club building on Broadway Ave., which shut down at the end of 2021. The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved giving a special use permit to allow for a mini golf course to be built in place of the Woodcreek Athletic Club in August.
The zoning commissioners approved the request from Sandhu Investments to grant a special use permit for the 2.51 acres at 6110 South Broadway Ave.
Putt-Putt Golf & Games, the last remaining outdoor mini golf course in Tyler, closed down after roughly 64 years of business in August 2024. A Holiday Inn Express is being built in its place currently.
