Matt Damon has got people right in the feels with his parenting advice to Jason Kelce, with the two stars speaking Girl Dad to Girl Dad during the most recent episode of Jason’s New Heights podcast, which he cohosts with his brother, Travis Kelce.
For reference, 55-year-old Matt has four daughters: 25-year-old Alexia, who is his wife, Luciana Barroso’s, daughter from a previous relationship, 19-year-old Isabella, 17-year-old Gia, and 15-year-old Stella.

And Matt has always fully embraced fatherhood, previously telling Esquire: “[Paparazzi] can try to stake me out, but they’re always going to get the same story: middle-aged married guy with four kids.”

He also opened up about the “two-week rule” that he and Luciana implemented in a bid to balance his Hollywood career and his family, with Matt telling YourTango in 2014: “I’m not away for more than two weeks. I think you need to be with the person you love as much as possible. My wife is my soul mate. I don’t like being apart from her.”

Meanwhile, Jason is also a dad of four girls — albeit he is much earlier on in his parenting journey than Matt is. The NFL star shares six-year-old Wyatt, four-year-old Elliotte, two-year-old Bennett, and nine-month-old Finnley with his wife, Kylie Kelce.

So, it’s perhaps unsurprising that the two bonded during Wednesday’s podcast episode, where Matt shared a heartwarming anecdote about his recent experience with his teen daughter Gia.

“An old friend of mine said, when my 19 year old was probably 18 months, said: ‘Don’t blink,’” Matt began. “That shit is real. My daughter broke her collarbone, and this morning, she was getting ready for school, she’s 17. She asked me to brush her hair, so I brushed her hair and man… It was a moment.”
“I hadn’t brushed hair, I don’t know, eight, nine years? You know what I mean?” he went on, before saying to Jason: “You’re at that stage now where you get them ready, they’re lined up!”

“Oh, you gotta do all of it,” Jason confirmed. Matt then continued: “I don’t remember when I brushed her hair for the last time, it just kinda happened. And then life kinda kept going, and the changes are so incremental that you don’t realize until I ran the hairbrush through her hair and it’s the same, and it buckled me, man. So, don’t blink.”
Needless to say, Matt’s heartfelt comments have left social media users feeling emotional. Reacting to the clip on X, one person wrote: “This is typically a lighthearted, funny show, but this is beautiful parenting advice from Matt Damon.”

“Matt Damon had me crying with this one, it goes too fast,” somebody else wrote, and another echoed: “Omg. I’m not crying. You’re crying.”
One more added: “I was [bawling] driving to work on this one. Matt Damon is a wise man. And a great dad.”

Meanwhile, somebody else shared: “Reminds me of one of my favorite moments from Bluey. The mom is sitting with her dad, now in his 70s, and says ‘I used to play here so much… that was a long time ago’ And her dad says ‘No, it was yesterday.’”
