PHOENIX — You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream and a hole-in-one at the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale. At this year’s WM Phoenix Open, attendees will be treated with the golf tournament’s new “WMPO Green Dream” frozen treat.
The new dessert offering is being made possible by a partnership with Phoenix-based shop, Novel Ice Cream, according to a press release.
Green Dream is a mint ice cream with chocolate chips and pretzels mixed in and topped with green and yellow candies.
Fans at “The People’s Open” will be able to purchase the treat at a food truck located in the WMPO Fan Zone.
It will be sold in several environment-friendly ways, to keep with event sponsor’s “zero-waste strategy,” coming in a cone, compostable cup, or waffle cup accompanied by compostable utensils.
According to a WM Phoenix Open Instagram post, 20% of the sales from the exclusive creation will go toward the tournament’s Working For Tomorrow Fund, which benefits local charities centered on sustainability.
David Brannon, area vice president for WM’s Four Corners Region, said this addition to a PGA Tour staple will be yet another way the company can engage fans with its “on-course fundraising efforts.”
The Working for Tomorrow Fund was launched in 2024 and has raised more than $800,000 since then.
The 2026 WM Phoenix Open is set for Feb. 2-8 and golf’s No. 1 player and two-time tournament champion Scottie Scheffler has committed to play.
We want to hear from you.
