SAN ANTONIO – What began as a night of music at Freeman Coliseum ended in a violent confrontation that left two members of the same family injured.
Arthur Higa Jr., 25, was arrested on two counts of assault with bodily injury.
The incident happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2025, at the coliseum on East Houston Street, where a concert was underway.
According to the arrest report, a Bexar County Sheriff’s deputy working off duty at the venue was alerted to a fight involving several people.
Investigators said the fight began as an argument between a father and son and others attending the concert. The argument escalated and the father was hit multiple times, causing him to lose consciousness.
As his father lay unconscious, the son tried to defend his dad, but he was assaulted as well, suffering blows to his face and body from multiple individuals.
A family member of the victims told the deputies that they recognized Higa as one of the suspects. They said he was someone “the family had known for several years,” according to the arrest report.
Higa was released on a combined $15,000 bond.
