MENTAL RESET: Since Thursday’s scores do not carry over into Friday’s second round, a start-from-scratch mentality is required for those who advanced.
“Every day is a new day and we start from zero,” said Spain’s Pablo Ereno. “So, every day you need to play as hard. It doesn’t matter if you shot 6-under yesterday or 1-under and got through just on the number. You start from zero the next day.”
Added Ireland’s Max Kennedy: “For me, it’s really important just to keep with my game plan. You don’t really want to let your foot off the gas.”
DISNEY VISIT: Thailand’s Suteepat Prateeptienchai is competing in the U.S. for the first time in his career. His only visit to America came 10 years ago with his family. Prior to teeing it up at the Promotions tournament, he’s spent time as a tourist with his girlfriend in Miami and Orlando – including a visit to Disney World.
Asked which ride he liked best, he didn’t hesitate. “Guardians of the Galaxy,” he replied. “Very fun.”
RECORD-TYING NUMBER: The 29 players who advanced into the second round ties for the most in Promotions history. A total of 29 players also advanced after the first round in the inaugural 2023 Promotions, while 21 players advanced in 2024.
GLOBAL REPRESENTATION: The 29 players advancing out of Round 1 represent an impressive 18 different countries. Thailand led with the most players advancing with five, while Australia and the USA each had three players moving on.
FRIDAY’S START TIME: Round 2 will begin at 8:55 a.m. ET off two tees, with the final groups teeing off at 10:12 a.m.
