Deputies say a man was taken into custody after climbing onto the roof of a restaurant along the Katy Freeway, bringing the incident to an end.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team and SWAT responded to an incident at a restaurant along the Katy Freeway, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
In a social media post, Gonzalez said deputies were called to a restaurant located at 19300 Katy Freeway near Fry Road.
According to the sheriff, a male had climbed onto the roof of the building and was initially refusing to come down, prompting authorities to evacuate the business.
In an update, Gonzalez said the man later climbed to a lower level and was taken into custody, bringing the incident to an end.
Gonzalez said the man is believed to have an open felony warrant from another county, though no additional details about the individual or the warrant were immediately released.
Authorities have not said what led up to the incident.
