Heads up, North Texas! There’s a few closures and detours on deck this weekend for roadways throughout the region.
Here’s what you need to know.
President George Bush Turnpike
The ramps connecting southbound Northbound Interstate 35E to westbound President George Bush Turnpike in Carrollton will undergo continuous closures for the Texas Department of Transportation’s I-35E Phase 2 project, according to a traffic advisory from North Texas Tollway Authority. The closures are needed to perform a traffic switch.
Breaking News
According to NTTA, nightly closures on the ramps will take place during the following times:
- Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday
- Saturday from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday
- Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday
More closures are planned in Carrollton on the ramp connecting westbound PGBT to southbound I-35E for routine maintenance, the advisory said. Continuous closures will begin Friday at 9 p.m. and continue through 5 a.m. Sunday.
Chisholm Trail Parkway
For drivers in the Fort Worth area, continuous closures are underway on Chisholm Trail Parkway in Crowley for a widening project taking place on the roadway. The closures are specifically needed to move equipment in the work zone, according to the NTTA advisory.
The closures, which are on the northbound County Road 920 entrance ramp, began Monday and will continue through Monday, Jan. 26.
Additional closures will take place daily on Chisholm Trail Parkway in Crowley from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, then again Monday to Saturday, Jan. 17. The closures are also needed to move equipment, and will take place on the southbound CR 920 entrance ramp.
Interstate 30
In western Tarrant County, I-30 going westbound from Spur 580/Camp Bowie Boulevard to Linkcrest Drive will be closed for bridge construction activities, according to a post on X from TxDOT’s Fort Worth office.
The closures will take place from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday, according to the post.
Signs and message boards will be placed near the construction sites to alert drivers of all the closures. Detours will also be available.
All closures are subject to weather conditions and could potentially be postponed, if necessary. Drivers are asked to use caution in any construction areas.
