Two superb WTA Brisbane semifinal matches are scheduled for Saturday. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will face Karolina Muchova before American star Jessica Pegula plays Marta Kostyuk. As always, we here at LWOT predict all the action, but which players do you think will reach the final?

WTA Brisbane Semifinal Predictions
Jessica Pegula vs Marta Kostyuk

Head-to-head: Pegula 4-1 Kostyuk

Kostyuk had a pretty challenging 2025 after a breakthrough 2024, but she has made an early-season statement in Brisbane. The Ukrainian played terrifically to defeat two-time Grand Slam runner-up Amanda Anisimova and teenage star Mirra Andreeva in the past two rounds. Pegula has not been at her best, but battled through matches against Anna Kalinskaya, Dayana Yastremska, and Liudmila Samsonova.

The American does not possess the same natural talent as Anisimova or Andreeva, but her temperament is among the best. I think that will prove crucial against the notoriously emotional Kostyuk. Pegula is backed to keep her cool better in the tight moments and use her superior attacking qualities effectively to reach the final.
Prediction: Pegula in 3

Aryna Sabalenka vs Karolina Muchova

Head-to-head: Muchova 3-1 Sabalenka

Muchova has won her last three meetings against Sabalenka, all in the deciding set. The Czech’s variety, especially her slice, generated unforced errors from the four-time Grand Slam champion when it mattered most. Muchova showed that ability again in her three-set quarterfinal triumph against Elena Rybakina.

The head-to-head means Muchova’s chances should not be ruled out. However, Sabalenka will likely end the losing streak against the 2023 French Open runner-up. The conditions in Brisbane suit her game perfectly, and she performed impressively in the previous rounds. On a medium-speed hard court, at a tournament where she has been successful, Sabalenka has the best possible chance of prevailing. Muchova’s serve probably needs to be flowing if she is to defeat Sabalenka once again.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 3
