PHOENIX (AZFamily) — After a chilly morning in the Valley, this afternoon will be cool with highs near 60. The calmer winds will likely make tonight a little colder than last night.
A Freeze Warning is in effect overnight into Saturday morning for parts of western Arizona, including Wickenburg. A Freeze Warning has also been issued for parts of southeastern Arizona, southern Maricopa County and most of Pinal County, including Queen Creek and Eloy.
No warnings are in effect for the Valley, but overnight lows are expected to drop to 39 degrees. Phoenix has not dropped below 39 degrees since Jan. 23, 2025, when the temperature fell to 37 degrees.
Highs will hit around 64 degrees by Saturday afternoon, which is a few degrees cooler than normal. Sunday morning will also be chilly with lows in the low 40s. However, highs will recover to near 70 degrees by Sunday afternoon.
The cool mornings and mild afternoons will kick off the work week, with low to mid-40s in the morning and low 70s in the afternoon. Highs should reach the mid-70s on Wednesday afternoon.
Then, mid to upper-70s are possible by Thursday.
For the High Country, gusty winds will continue this afternoon with gusts of 20-30 mph in areas like Flagstaff with wind chills in the teens. A Wind Advisory continues for parts of western Arizona until 5 p.m.
A cold night is ahead with lows dropping to around 9 degrees in Show Low, 21 degrees in Payson, and 10 degrees in Flagstaff.
Highs will reach around 35 in Flagstaff on Saturday afternoon. The afternoons will trend milder next week in the mountains with mostly sunny skies.
