Mayo Clinic diet app launches personalized meal plan feature

  • January 10, 2026

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – For some, a challenge to weight loss can be finding the right meal plan that can best fit you, and that’s according to Tara Schmidt, Mayo Clinic’s lead Dietician.

The Mayo Clinic’s diet app has launched ‘My Plan’, a personalized meal plan tool that tailors to an individual’s health needs, allergies, schedule, and food preferences.

“That really helps people with accountability, and we know that when you can be more accountable to your meal plan, you’ll be more successful,” Schmidt said.

When using the tool online, members can click the ‘personalize’ button on the right-hand side of the screen. You will then be asked to answer a series of questions to determine what plan fits you.

After the survey is completed, a user will be presented with different meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. “In these cold Minnesota winters, I have loved the soups,” Schmidt added.

According to Mayo Clinic, member data analysis shows users who regularly use the meal plan tool could lose an average of 12 pounds in 12 weeks.
