Porsche Car North America, based in Atlanta, has opened a state-of-the-art facility in Texas to accelerate turnaround times for both parts distribution and technician training, according to a news release.

The details

The 301,140-square-foot facility behind Texas Motor Speedway is designed to enhance service efficiency, support dealer operations and provide advanced training for Porsche technicians across the North Texas region, according to the news release.

Cohen Asset Management posted that the construction of the building was finished on Oct. 8. The facility employs 21 people.

“The Fort Worth Parts Center is a major milestone in our logistics strategy,” said Brad Skoff, President of Porsche’s logistics services. “It allows us to deliver parts faster and more efficiently, while also creating meaningful jobs and economic impact in the region.”

This is the company’s second-largest distribution center in the world. The building will support same-day and next-day parts distribution across the region.

A newly launched nationwide shuttle network will connect all of Porsche’s parts distribution centers, reducing reliance on third-party carriers, minimizing damage risk and enhancing freight security, according to a news release.

What else

The training portion provides hands-on instruction for internal combustion, hybrid and battery electric vehicles, or BEVs. The building had three classrooms and a workshop with three lifts to provide hands-on training, according to the news release. The company expects to train 800 technicians in the Certified Porsche Technician Program annually.

“This new hub reflects Porsche’s dedication to excellence in service and customer support,” said Glenn Garde, vice president of after-sales at PCNA. “By investing in Fort Worth, we’re not only improving logistics and training capabilities, but also strengthening our connection to our dealer network.”

Porsche has dealerships in Grapevine, Dallas, Plano and Fort Worth, according to its website. The company is headquartered in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany.
